The Surface and Operations

I always get a kick out of people who want to chat about AI. The reason for this is, there is a reoccurring assumption that by being in the "AI space" I have a firm grasp on the technology's upside, downside, potential applications, ethics, future value, etc.

Sure, I will admit, I am privy to a lot of knowledge that I otherwise would not have access to via Zeroth.ai, in building the first cohort and watching our 10 AI/ML startups develop. Ironically, this doesn't mean I'm directly engaged with AI as a technology and nascent industry on a day-to-day basis. This has everything to do with my role in operations, and something unthought of while steering me into conversations on AI.

As the operator of Zeroth.ai, I run with a set of operative goals on a daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, yearly schedule, all interrelated and tied to one another. 99.9% of what I do in operations is not specifically unique to AI, and can quite easily be imagined in one of any other industries. Effectively, I am below the surface, and do not need to know much about the surface (what everyone sees as AI) in order to thrive. I like it best this way, as a matter of preference.
